As I get ready for my day to walk with the Lord I find myself reflecting on the current events unfolding as Jonathan Kleck is looking at suing Gene Revel for copyright/trademark infringement. There many hard questions we must all ask ourselves. First of all why is this so important to Kleck? The copyright/trademark in question is of an item Kleck came up with way before he started his ministry. It is worldly and obviously represents the many sins of man, so why keep it? I have no answer for that because I can not know the heart and mind of Jonathan Kleck, I can only surmise, but that I will not do in this blog. It’s just an open question. Why keep it in the first place?
The next is about money. When the Lord had me begin the ARC it was only for those left behind and as it was begun we had a few donors giving items to be tucked away for those left behind in the rapture. As it progressed the idea of opening up the ARC to those who were currently in need of help developed. As it turned out those who came did indeed initially come to help set up the ARC but then it developed further into a respite for those within the Kleck ministry. Donations started coming in and I was grateful because the personal money I had left over from a lawsuit was beginning to dwindle rapidly due to the bills housing those who had come to live at the ARC, off and on up to 14 individuals. It takes quite a bit of money to feed, in some cases clothe and keep the power on etc. etc. Yes LaDonna and her husband donated close to $13,000.00 over the course of a year and that was admirable with her husband Jim handing me a $5000.00 check at the end of Under the Stars, bring the total to $18,000.00 or so. That $5000.00 subsequently went to Alissa Howard who was, by then handling the finances of the ARC. All this is documented. My point being was this money as well as money donated by others went to the support of those living at the ARC. It went to those who were within the Jonathan Kleck ministry. This is the point I am coming to. Jonathan Kleck is saying he will bring a lawsuit against Gene Revel. Why? If it’s about a trademark infringement, a trademark representing Kleck’s past why is that important now to him? Why did he keep it in the first place? He said it was for future generations I believe. Kleck claims to be an end time harbinger. In his words the world is ending any time, so why this, why now? Again I will not go into why I believe he is doing this now as in my opinion it’s pretty clear.
This is not why I am writing this blog today however.
My biggest question is to each and everyone who reads this. As one who has been involved in lawsuits, one of which I took on the Episcopal Church so that they would be held accountable for their actions. This was before I was saved and I felt it was the righteous thing to do. Interesting to note most of the money I received from it went to helping others in need, of which I have no regrets and would do it again in a heartbeat. The other was because of a questionable debt that was owed and turned over to a collection agency who sued for the balance, an agreement was struck and I paid them, regardless of whether I was in the right or not. They held a lien over my property so if they were not paid they could have taken it and sold it in auction. Yes the ARC property is what I am discussing. I only told Alex and possibly Eric. It was my personal debt, not one of the ministry and I had to handle it myself and not involve any funds from the ARC, which I did not. A very close friend of mine and also my own son, loaned me the money to take care of the obligation and keep the creditors from seizing the property while people were still living there. All of this is documented and quite provable. The point is I did not go to the ministry and solicit funds to bail me out. With the Lord’s help I took care of my own responsibilities. This comes to the question. I know how much money it potentially takes to raise a lawsuit. As Christians we are tasked with helping those who are less fortunate, those who are in need. We are also called to turn the other cheek. Kleck’s followers are willing to donate money to fund this lawsuit. Why? What good could come out of a long drawn out lawsuit when the money that would be donated could be used instead, perhaps, to help others in need until, as Kleck states, the end comes? Why not make a concerted effort to reach out and help those who are NOT within the ministry and minister the Word of God to them? Do those things we are called by Christ to do, face to face. Donate money to a food kitchen, a homeless shelter, a battered women’s shelter. Why not physically go out and see what those less fortunate need and help them the best you can? Money is of this world but Jesus Christ is the Word everlasting. Share the Living Truth of Christ our Savior.
It begs the question again as to why Kleck wants to file a lawsuit.
